On the way to Gyeongbokgung Palace the
bus will pass by the Presidential Blue House. After The Presidential
Blue House, guests will be led to Kyongbok Palace, which was
built in 1394 as the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty. It
is the most comprehensive and grandest of the five palaces
for the Joseon Dynasty.
After Gyeongbokgung Palace, we will visit the National Folk
Museum, which portrays many activities of the Korean life
style with a total of 4000 folk relics. These include religious
rituals, housing, household tools, and social dynamics of
traditional Korean life. The next stop is Jogye. The Jogye
Order is the largest and most influential denomination in
Korean Buddhism today. After Jogye Temple, we will head to
the Ginseng Center or the Amethyst Factory. Ginseng is recognized
all over the world as a cure-all, and processed products made
of ginseng are sold in this center. Amethyst symbolizes peace,
sincerity and health, and the amethyst produced in is recognized
as among the highest quality in the world. |

After a trip to the top of Seoul Tower
(It has been designated as a major tourist attraction where
the beautiful panoramic view of Seoul can been seen. The 236.7
meter high Seoul Tower built on the 243m Mt. Namsan has been
known as the best tower in Asia.), guests will make their
way to DeokSu Palace. Here, museum patrons can enjoy several
exhibits showcasing the most celebrated Korean contemporary
artists of the 20th century. One selected piece from each
of the 100 modern artists comprises this limited-time offering
exhibition (available through June 30th). The trip concludes
with a stop at the National Palace Museum of Korea, which
preserves sophisticated royal court articles of the Joseon
Dynasty. Itaewon Street is the most exotic place in Seoul
where you can eat, go shopping or just enjoy hanging out.
After the U.S. army was stationed in the 1970s, foreigners
started to live nearby and it naturally developed into a shopping
zone for foreigners. |

Palace is the only palace in Korea that preserves the architectural
style of the Joseon Dynasty. The garden used to be the king¡¯s
resting area where 300-year-old trees, pond and pavilion are

Description:
Gyeongbokhgung Palace is located in
the northwestern part of downtown Seoul,
and has four compass-oriented gates
behind the outer Gwanghwamun Gate. This
palace was built by King Taejo in the
year 1395. King Taejo was the founder
of the Chosun Kingdom and the palace
was estabilshed during the fourth year
of his reign. There is a map located
at the front entrance of Gyeongbok Palace,
showing the architectural arrangement
of the complex during the later part
of King Kojong`s reign. There are mapped
out areas as halls, pavilions, gates,
bridges, storerooms, and offices. It
spans out over some 419,100 square meters
of grounds. Presidential Blue House
is the office and residence of President
of South Korea. It is called "
Cheong Wa Dae ". The location of
Cheong Wa Dae was first used as the
site of a royal villa in what was then
Namgyeong (the southern capital). It
was built by King Sukjong (r. 1095-1105)
of the Goryeo |

Description:
Changdeok Palace, Jongmyo Royal Shrine
and Suwon Hwasung Fortress are registered
as several of UNESCO's World Cultural
Heritage sites. Changdeok Palace is
a beautiful palace of the Joseon Dynasty
with a secret garden. It contains a
multitude of traditional garden architectures
including wooden pavilions, ponds, splendidly
patterned walls, and many other beautiful
structures all perfectly balanced in
natural settings. After Changdeok Palace,
we will visit Jongmyo Royal Shrine,
which is the royal ancestral shine where
the ancestral tablets of the kings and
their queen consorts of the Joseon Dynasty
are worshipped. The shrine was so important
that it was built before the royal palaces
in the first years of the dynasty. The
next stop is Suwon Hwasung Fortress,
which is a culmination of both western
and oriental castle styles. It is an
architectural marvel from the 18th century. |
